Yellow Pikmin

Inspiration: So many people have done "sexy Pokemon" and "pimp Ash" and I always thought it was a cute idea. One day it came to me that no one had ever done the same with Pikmin. So I told some friends about the idea and they loved it!
Design: Pikmin are nothing more than tiny little plant-animals with peanut-shaped bodies; there's really nothing "sexy" about them. This is where we got to let our creativity run wild and come up with lots of different concepts for our costumes.
Construction: Since our goal was to be "sexy" I decided pvc/vinyl would be appropriate to make my costume out of. It was easier than I thought it would be to work with, and the finished product is very nice. I made all of the headpieces out of craft foam. I love them ^^
Favorite Aspect: I loved everything about this outfit at the time, but now not so much.. But the shoes were exactly what I wanted, the skirt is so cool, and the flower headpiece is so much fun to wear ^.^ Oh, and I love having the ears (that's why I chose the Yellow Pikmin XD) Of course, the best part of it all is being able to share the experience with my friends <3
Construction Difficulties: Definitely the gloves. The actual construction of the gloves wasn't very hard at all (thank you Vogue pattern V0667) but making it out of vinyl without compensating for the non-stretchy material proved to be a mistake. After following the pattern exactly, what I ended up with was a nicely-fitted hand with not half enough material to wrap around my arm. I wasn't going to do it all again, but I wanted long gloves, so my solution was to dig out the eyelet gun and allow a ribbon to cover the open part of my arm. I'm so glad it happened, because I love the ribbons!!
Costume Difficulties: Something I didn't account for was my ability to sit down in the skirt, which is possible but not without putting creases in it. The ribbon holding the skirt together in the back is also a bit of a problem as it doesn't like to evenly distribute when I'm wearing it. The only other thing would be that I look even more flat-chested in that top than I already am ;_;
