Kaioh Michiru
Three Lights joint concert dress

Inspiration: At first, this costume was meant to compliment a Haruka costume in a cosplay skit my sister and I were planning, but that never worked out, so I was left with a beautiful costume to hall cosplay with! I'm very glad I made this costume because I've now made tribute to both gorgeous characters of the best couple in anime ^^
Design: Unfortunately, there's never a clear full-body shot of Michiru's concert dress in the one episode it appears in, so it's truly up to the cosplayer how she wants to complete it. I found the pattern closest to every reference picture I could find. It's not exact but it's close enough :)
Construction: Michiru's rich; she can afford the best evening gown money can buy. Samantha's not rich; she takes what she can get. Lucky for her, Grandma happened to have some bridal satin laying around. The only satin I had to buy was a little bit of blue for the bow. I already had the shoes, I borrowed the violin from my sister, and the gloves were relatively cheap on eBay. This is all very good, because the wig's cost made me cry. I accidentally bought a pattern that was way too big for me, but we sized it down and it fits me perfectly :D
Favorite Aspect: The wig!!! I love it!!! It's extremely easy to put on and it feels and looks great! The silk is soft and the costume doesn't get annoying to wear, though the silk can get a little hot. It's just so pretty! ^_^
Construction Difficulties: There wasn't really much to this costume other than following the pattern to make the dress then attaching the bow. The neck and back of the dress was a little confusing, but my super awesome mom figured it out ^^;
Costume Difficulties: Carrying around that violin is a pain and a half, which is why there aren't as many pictures of me with it, unfortunately.
